New 3 GHz oscilloscope/digitizer PicoScope 6428E-D

Pico Technologies has introduced another member of the PicoScope 6000E family of USB oscilloscopes, the 6428E-D, which can measure and record signals up to 3 GHz.

The new oscilloscope/digitizer has four 50Ω channels with an input range of ±500 mV and 3 GHz bandwidth. If required, the oscilloscope can be supplemented with external attenuators or probes to safely measure signals with larger amplitude. Thanks to the unique FlexRes architecture, the vertical resolution of the input channels can be 8, 10 or 12 bits. The maximum sampling rate at 8-bit resolution is 10 GSa/s, at 10-bit resolution 5 GSa/s and at 12-bit resolution 1.25 GSa/s. The maximum recording length is 4 GSamples in 8-bit mode or 2 GSamples in 10/12-bit mode. As a result, a signal with length up up to 200ms can be captured and stored at a sampling rate of 10 GSa/s. The oscilloscope can be further enhanced with up to 16 input channels for logic signals.

The proven and continuously upgraded PicoScope 7 software environment serves as the user interface. Communication with PC is via USB bus. The maximum measurement transfer speed is up to 360 Msamples/s for 8-bit samples or 180 Msamples/s for 10/12-bit samples when connected via USB 3.0.
