Expansion of the Chroma 62000D bi-directional power supply range with 36kW and 45kW models

Chroma has expanded its range of 62000D series bi-directional power supplies with two new models that have an output power of 36kW and 45kW respectively. However, higher power is not the only innovation. The new 62000D-HL power supplies have two switchable operating ranges, 2000V/±60A and 650V/±180A. This makes these power supplies much more versatile and allows multiple applications to be tested with a single device without the need to purchase additional equipment.

The 62000D-HL bi-directional power supplies are designed for testing equipment such as batteries and battery systems, DC/DC converters, power electronics used in electric vehicles, charging units and more. In load mode, the 62000D-HL bi-directional power supplies can return absorbed energy back to the grid with an efficiency of over 93%. Users can use the software to simulate different types of batteries or solar cells.

If more power than the 45 kW that a single source can provide is required, up to 40 units can be connected together in parallel to provide a source of up to 1,8MW. Control of the sources is possible via LAN and USB interfaces. Optional GPIB, CAN or CAN-FD interfaces can also be added.
